Preston is home to one of Lancashire Women’s many networks of centres that are located across Lancashire. They’re a leading community development charity for women and girls in the county with over 6500 women accessing their services over the past year – and 130 active volunteers supporting the delivery of their services.
Lancashire Women’s vision is for a Lancashire where all women and girls are valued and treated as equals. They empower women and girls to be able to transform their lives by bringing them together to: find their voice, share experiences and understanding, develop their knowledge & skills and challenge stereotypes & misconceptions about them…so that they can have choices in becoming the individuals they want to be.
They offer a safe, female-only space for drop-ins any time between the weekday hours of 10am and 3pm. (For men accessing their mental health services, these such appointments are carried out off-site – or out of their core hours.)
The registered charity helps Lancashire Women:
- Improve mental health and wellbeing
- Get advice on managing money, benefits, and debt
- Improve skills, knowledge and gain employment
- Meet others and build friendships
- Live safer, happier and more positive lives.
Women can access any service for free by dropping into their centres in Preston (on Lune Street) or in Accrington, Burnley and Blackpool. Book an appointment today by calling 0300 330 1354 or emailing TalkToUs@lancashirewomen.org
