Podio Magazine recently announced that it would not be publishing a printed Podio Preston magazine until further notice, owing to the current COVID-19 pandemic. However, that is not to say that articles and celebratory news stories are not still continuously being created and added to www.podiomagazine.com.
Podio’s diverse, local, volunteers have been determined to continue providing their local communities with positive, celebratory news stories, along with insights and other engaging content.
In order to do this, and like many other organisations, the local team responsible for Podio Preston have taken advantage of the digital tools available. This includes:
- Shifting all weekly meetings to Zoom, to ensure that everyone is kept up to date, to discuss further developments and most importantly, to check in on each other.
- Digitizing our positive, celebratory news stories submission process and the development of an online community hub for members, to enable a consistent and continuous flow of positive news for our subscribers, first-time readers and business partners.
Although becoming more digital proved to be daunting for some of our volunteers at first, our quick learning, positive-thinking volunteers have taken to it like a ‘duck to water’. Extra assistance has been provided by other volunteers where necessary, which coincides with, enhances and highlights the real ethos of the Podio Magazine community.
Further information regarding our response to COVID-19 can be found in our recent announcement.
