An autumn / winter wonderland theme, full length catwalk, 30+ models, musical & acrobatic delights… December 8th is sure to be a captivating & fascinating evening as local creatives put on a show AND use discarded clothes to create fashionable masterpieces.
Expect beautiful performances from the Street Monkeys free-running team, body art by local make-up artist RaveFace & carnival-esque circus performance by the Beatnik collective & Wolf Enterprises.
Immerse yourself in an elegant & eclectic fashion show…
A feast for the eyes & ears.
Opening the show in the foyer will be the musical stylings of ‘Liv’ a smouldering acoustic soul artist. Accompanying the performers will be Tommy Techno & Sean O’Hara, a tribal collection of upbeat bongos, didgeridoo & Jew harp. Closing the evening, will be Porter & May, an enchanting anti-folk four piece.
Each item of clothing that features in the show has been found at local charity shops & will be available for purchase at the end of the night. There will also be a clothes bank – so guests are encouraged to bring clothes that are no longer needed. These will be donated to all the charity shops involved, helping not just one, but multiple, local charities.
Money raised from the £6.50 ticket sales go directly to Shelter – a nationwide charity for the homeless.
The higher priced tickets (£16.50 – limited availability) offer front row seats, a Champagne reception and a personal screening of the behind the scenes video, ‘the making of the Preston Charity Fashion Show’ leading up to the event. Additionally, there will be introductions to all the charities & businesses involved.
Make this a Christmas night out in Preston by indulging in a meal at nearby Villa Italian or Mundo Tapas beforehand. Attendees are also invited to the after-show party in Review to mingle with the models & organisers.
Taking place between 7-10pm on Thursday December 8th at Preston Guild Hall, the Autumn / Winter Preston Charity Fashion Show aims to incorporate the best of Preston’s businesses & talent. Get your tickets from the Beautiful Planet cafe or the Guild Hall Box Office now. Alternatively, visit their Twitter page or Facebook event.
