Editor’s Letter

Hello Preston, What a lovely line up of submissions we have for you this Autumn. We’ll take you from the heart of Preston’s LGBT+ community pride event to getting all green fingered in the garden. You’ll learn about the history of (and how to bake) our city’s Butter Pie courtesy of local author, Caroline James and be inspired by local businessman, Ross McWilliam. We have life coaching with Julie, poetry by Dean Fraser and we’ll introduce our city’s Street Pastors as well as Lancashire Women. There’s also an out of town trip down the road to Penwortham – for our Further Afield piece.

Finally and, for me, a significant spread is the YouInspire segment. Flick through to pages 9 & 10 to see how one man has transformed his confidence, his image & his social circle despite decades of mental health challenges.

If a focus on professional development is for you, then we also have info on an opening with a local charity. As always, please support our advertisers – call into the Olive Grove Cafe for a coffee today?! It’s truly a lovely little place.

Finally, take a picture, or keep a copy of, Amigos Print House on our back page – consider using amigosprinthouse.com when you’re seeking next year’s wall calendars for family Christmas presents? If you’re a manager, get a quote when you next need business cards or flyers? Amigos Print House is a venture which I’ve launched with an old business partner. (I manage online components from Thailand whilst he manages
logistical elements on the ground in Preston) Your support, as we attempt to grow our tiny little buds, will be massively appreciated.

All the best, peace and love, and happy Pride to those celebrating!

Andy Neale
