Preston coach Gemma Margerison has launched a range of Resilience Bands to help support individuals to become more resilient. A percentage of the cost goes to local and national charities to help military, veterans and those that have been through trauma.
The concept for The Resilience Band came from my own personal experiences. I was diagnosed with PTSD in 2015 and one of the most significant turning points in my recovery happened in May 2018 when my then counsellor asked me what it was going to take for me to move forward with my life. One of my main struggles had been feeling as if I had a missing piece, a black hole which sucked all the joy out my life. I knew then I had to find a way to heal that hole and so I bought myself a necklace with a jigsaw puzzle piece charm on it. I know it sounds daft but it completely changed my outlook. I no longer had anything holding me back, I was whole.
