We were allowed to go out to exercise and with a lot less traffic on the roads, many people took the opportunity to take up cycling or dusted off their bikes and started cycling again. For a time it was difficult to buy a bike as the factories that made them and suppliers were shut and demand had increased.
provides lots of information and links about cycling including how to get started, the location of pop up cycle lanes in Lancashire, road safety, bike security, cycle training lessons, maintenance and cycling groups etc. The site also provides information about how cycling improves physical health and mental well being and how cycling instead of using a car will help reduce road congestion and improving air quality.
